The Popular Party of Lanzarote will hold the first Public Officials Convention of the legislature next Friday, July 4, at the El Fondeadero Civic Center (Puerto del Carmen), in which the work that the councilors have been doing in each of the local corporations in which the Popular Party has representation will be reported, as well as the initiatives that have been adopted during this time in the regional Parliament, in the Government of the Canary Islands, in the Senate and in the Congress of Deputies.
At the meeting, the challenges that the populars will face in the remainder of the term and the main issues on which public officials will focus their proposals will also be addressed.
For the island president, Loly Luzardo, if this first year of government in the main island institutions, Cabildo and Arrecife City Council, has been characterized by anything, it has undoubtedly been by "paralysis and mismanagement, by the total absence of leadership and the lack of political will to address and solve the serious problems that affect our island".
Criticism of Zapatero
For Luzardo, passivity has also settled in the Zapatero Government, which, according to her, "in the face of the economic crisis that we are suffering, has been unable to arbitrate corrective measures aimed at alleviating this situation and the serious consequences it is having on the economy of Spanish families".
