The Popular Group, "echoing the general feeling of the population of Arrecife, conveys to public opinion on this Three Kings Day, that the PSOE and the mayoress of Arrecife have turned the illusion of thousands of children of Arrecife into a night of horror and tensions upon seeing that the Three Wise Men did not appear in the area where, according to the capital's City Council itself, they were going to parade." From the PP they consider the organization of the Three Kings Parade suffered and experienced in the capital of Lanzarote to be an "absolute disaster and failure".
According to the PP, "the Three Kings Parade ended at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture, despite the fact that the press release from the Arrecife City Council reported that the parade route would end at the mouth of the Pier" accesses to the Commercial Pier and the beginning of Calle Real."
"Clearly, Eva de Anta and her bad government team have failed again in their first municipal organization of the year. This disastrous Parade joins the diminished Christmas events that, even with promotion on radio stations - such as the ice rink and the events - did not take place."
"There were many families who were outraged and it was no wonder because hundreds of children were excited about the Three Wise Men and went home without being able to see them" because Eva de Anta decided to go out on the balcony of the House of Culture and leave many children waiting for Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar. Only the camels appeared without their Three Wise Men, to the astonished gaze of the hundreds of children and parents who were waiting in the area of the mouth of the Pier.
The Popular Group has confirmed, by several of its councilors present at the capital's Parade, that "the City Council not only changed the route at the last minute but even the floats passed without animation, without music and with a speed that has no explanation" for a night as special as the Three Kings.
From the Popular Group they criticize the PSOE group "for continuing to damage the image of the city and playing with the illusion of the children who went to sleep last night without being able to see the Three Wise Men."
The popular representatives will demand explanations from the mayoress of Arrecife and the Councilor for Festivities in the next ordinary plenary session that "Eva de Anta is refusing to hold due to the minority situation in which her diminished government group finds itself."
