The PP accuses the government group of Tías of leaving Playa Grande without a blue flag

The Popular Party of Tías has lamented in a press release that the municipality is news this Tuesday for the "loss of a blue flag distinction on one of its beaches", specifically, Playa Blanca or Playa Grande, as it is better known among the residents.

For the PP councilor, Francisco Aparicio, the loss of one of the four awards that Puerto del Carmen had until now is a "clear symptom of the socialist government's neglect" of José Juan Cruz, who has been "unable to undertake the works and improvements that have been required of him time and time again."

The Populars have highlighted the "extra quality" that this internationally relevant distinction brings to a bathing area, "which obliges local corporations to be up to date in complying with different environmental, water quality, and service provision requirements."

Aparicio has pointed out the "lack of commitment" of the governing group also in this matter, which, "whether we like it or not, affects our image as a tourist destination." "Let's think that if we highlight the raising of the blue flags as a symbol of quality on our beaches, losing it also has a negative impact," as is the case.

On this occasion, "the deprivation of the blue distinction confirms the negligence of the socialists when it comes to executing the necessary small maintenance works as well as guaranteeing the provision of services on the beach," they concluded.
