The Popular Party Group in the Cabildo of Lanzarote has accused the president, María Dolores Corujo, of "hiding information" about the Isla de Los Volcanes Rally, since it assures that "she has not provided the file of the sports event within the five-day period determined by the Organization Regulations."

"Corujo is constantly boasting and giving lessons in transparency when the reality is that, in the exercise of her position, all she does is hinder and prevent us from the opposition from doing our job and overseeing the management of the government," says the Popular Party councilor, Jacobo Medina.

"It is a disgrace that almost two weeks after the Cabildo did not give the authorization for the rally, doing so just 24 hours before, the president continues without showing her face and without giving any explanation in this regard, as if the disaster was not with her and when, really, she is the ultimate responsible for what has happened," Medina reproaches.

"When one is president, it is with all the consequences, and in the face of such a serious issue, one cannot shirk responsibility to try to escape unscathed from what has clearly been a terrible and embarrassing management by the government and, consequently, by her as president," the councilor emphasizes.

Medina accuses the president of carrying out an "obstructive and obscurantist" policy by not providing access to the file within the five days that she claims are stipulated by the Corporation's regulations. "In effect, what Dolores Corujo is doing is denying us information with the intention that we cannot oversee the actions that have been carried out from the different areas involved," says Medina, who emphasizes that it is an authorization that "was negative and was not resolved until hours before the start of the event."
