The populars denounce that the residents who live in the houses located in the area known as "Casa de Lloret", on the Los Mármoles road in Arrecife, will continue to suffer numerous deficiencies in basic services such as lack of lighting, cleaning or traffic insecurity, after the Arrecife City Council rejected the proposal presented by the Popular Party in the last plenary session as it was not considered urgent by the mayor of the capital, Enrique Pérez Parrilla.
The populars consider that "services and quality of life must reach, equally, all points of the municipality where at least one resident lives". However, they emphasize that the approximately fifty residents who live in the Casas de Lloret, between numbers 90 and 128 of the Los Mármoles road, lack essential services.
According to Lorenzo Lemaur, councilor of the Popular Group in the capital's consistory, "the residents of this area have repeatedly denounced a total and absolute neglect by the City Council, to the point that the twenty houses in this area do not have connection to the municipal sanitation network, there is no public lighting, they have problems with the telephone line and the gardens and the road are not cleaned regularly".
For Lemaur, one of the most serious problems suffered by the residents of this area is the proximity of their homes to the road, with the consequent damage that this causes them, since vehicles circulate, on numerous occasions, exceeding the permitted speed limits. In this sense, the populars proposed to the City Council to raise the pedestrian crossing with a speed bump to force vehicles to slow down and thus guarantee the tranquility of residents and passers-by.
Lorenzo Lemaur, who acted as spokesperson for the Popular Party on this matter, regretted that Enrique Pérez Parrilla, has not attended to their proposals, "which are historical demands of the more than 50 residents of the area" and hopes that "no accident occurs in the area during the month that by decision of the mayor we will have to wait to debate the initiative".
