The Popular Party denounces that the municipality's recycling center, located in Arrieta, has been closed for almost a month, which is causing "belongings and waste to accumulate at the entrance of the premises in plain sight, generating a terrible image of the place."
The Popular Party points out that "this lack of foresight and the inability" of the municipal government to find "a quick solution is generating enormous discomfort among the residents."
In a press release, the popular representatives state that the residents “on the one hand need to get rid of furniture or disused utensils, but on the other hand they do not want to throw them at the door of the recycling center as if nothing.”
As explained by the president of the local PP, David Álvarez, the situation is quite shameful “because if you ask for it to be removed at home you can spend fifteen days with the mattress in front of the door of your house.”
The opposition party asks “where is the environmental commitment of the municipality of Haría” that the mayor and councilors talk so much about if “in 2024, we continue without a decent recycling center and on top of that, it is operating in such a precarious way.”
According to the Government group, the cause of the closure is the lack of personnel to operate the service. However, the PP believes that "this excuse is not enough since an alternative solution should have been foreseen before the closure was prolonged for so long."
The Popular Party of Haría demands an immediate response from the government team, as well as the "adoption of urgent measures to ensure that the recycling center returns to operation as soon as possible. In addition, they urge municipal officials to seek solutions to have a recycling center permanently and in good condition."
