The Popular Party has announced the list that it will present in the municipality of Yaiza and that will accompany the head of the list, Juan Monzón. Along with him, as number two will also be another former member of San Borondón, Alejandro Rodríguez Caraballo, who in the last elections was third on the list of that party.
As for the third place, it will be for a member of the PP, Salvador Martínez, on a list in which the absence of who had been the president of the party in the municipality, Laura Betancort, who two months ago announced her departure from the party, making public her discrepancies over how this integration of members of another political formation had occurred, with harsh criticism towards Ástrid Pérez.
As for the rest of the list that the Popular Party will present in Yaiza, it is completed by Lorena Martín Cabrera, María Ángeles Valls Gumiel, Oliver Umpiérrez Martín, Patricio Cazorla Gómez (Patri Cazorla), María del Carmen Duarte Bravo, Salvador Bueno Sainz, Raquel Castro Ossa, Jorge Juan Rodríguez Ojeda, Esther Valls Ábalos, Aquilino Martín Rodríguez, Cristina Conde Rivera, Girish Hotchand Sajnani, Mohamed Ali Narjah Boukeida, Sandra Melena Noguera Bayer, Ron Su Yue, Luz Marna Mera Echevarría and Brahim Injerahi.
"One of the municipalities with the greatest potential"
In a statement, the head of the list points out that with this team he intends to "fulfill his objective of modernizing the municipality, reinforcing social policies and promoting investments to boost the local economy and encourage the creation of employment", aspects that he considers "priorities within good public management" and that he considers that in Yaiza "have been completely forgotten during the last four years".
"The reality is that we are a municipality of opportunities, one of the main tourist destinations in Lanzarote and also one of the municipalities with the greatest potential from a commercial point of view, so our obligation in the government will be to begin to materialize it", says Juan Monzón, who highlights that in his "work agenda" is also "very present to prioritize the cleaning and beautification of the towns for which Yaiza has always distinguished itself".
Monzón has expressed himself "very satisfied and excited" with the men and women who accompany him in this new journey and has insisted that these are "people, all of them, linked to the municipality, who were born, live or work in Yaiza, so they know and are aware of the problems and will give their all to solve them and reverse the situation".
The profile of the candidates
Regarding the members of the candidacy, the PP highlights that Alejandro Rodríguez Caraballo is "a professional from the southern municipality linked to the restaurant and tourism sector and to sports information in the island, regional and national media". As for Salvador Martínez, who is currently the island director of Infrastructure of the Cabildo, after the entry of the PP into the government group, they point out that he is "a graduate in Law and a Graduate in Legal Sciences of Public Administration", as well as a professor-tutor of Constitutional Law at the Uned.
Regarding Lorena Martínez, she has a degree in Social Work and a technician in Social Integration and they affirm that "she has been immersed in the social field since 2011" and that "she has worked in several non-profit associations and currently carries out her profession in a special employment center, serving people with functional diversity".
From María Ángeles Valls Gumiel they highlight that she is a "woman with enormous social concerns who collaborates with various groups in defense of animals" and that "during her professional career she worked as an executive secretary and publicist, later launching herself into entrepreneurship with her own business".
For their part, Oliver Umpiérrez Martín and Patricio Cazorla Gómez are employees of the City Council. The first currently works as a controller of the Los Ajaches natural park, while the second was the Civil Protection coordinator in the southern municipality. In addition, Cazorla was a fighter and is currently also a Canarian wrestling instructor.
