The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Lanzarote approved the extension of the Municipal Cooperation Plans of 2020 to the seven island councils during the last plenary session. In this way, the town councils have until July 31, 2024 to carry out different works.
“We have understood the need of the town councils to extend the deadline to carry out the works that we finance through this cooperation, so we have decided to extend a hand to all the councils so that they can finish their works”, says the president, Oswaldo Betancort.
The vice president and councilor of Public Works, responsible for the Municipal Cooperation Plans, Jacobo Medina, also positively values the granting of this extension. “The Cabildo de Lanzarote is the town council of the town councils, so it is our obligation to collaborate as much as possible, for the good of all”, he points out.
List of projects by municipalities
By municipalities, the Arrecife City Council has been granted the extension for two projects: Arrecife Irrigation Network, for an amount of 728,937.75 euros; and the amount corresponding to the Municipal Cooperation Plan of 2020, which amounts to 3,246,409.40 euros, belonging to the projects Adaptation and legalization of playgrounds and bio-healthy areas of the Municipal District of Arrecife; Remodeling of changing rooms and adaptations to the Accessibility law in the Argana Alta football field; Adaptation and activity for the legalization of the Titerroy Municipal Pavilion; Optimization and bastioning of the municipal information system and Renovation of the public lighting of the Charco de San Ginés.
The municipality of Haría has requested an extension for the project of Partial conditioning of the CEIP San Juan de Haría for its destination as a nursery school for children from 0 to 3 years old; and Repaving of the streets Él Dice, El Callejón, Las Casillas and Alpidio Curbelo ‘Nicolás el de la guagua’, in the town of Máguez and the street Arco Iris in the town of Arrieta”. The amount of this PCM amounts to 403,806.42 euros.
Regarding the municipality of Tías, the extension has been granted for the projects Adaptation and various installations for the Multi-Purpose building and General conditioning and renovation of the Puerto del Carmen football field, which have a total amount of 1,138,742.36 euros.
The municipality of Yaiza, which had a budget of 990,914.37 euros in this PCM of 2020, has been granted the extension for the following projects: Basic and execution project of point 3 of pre-collection of waste in Playa Blanca, Repair and implementation of playgrounds of the Yaiza City Council, Yaiza municipal shooting range and Supply of different street furniture for squares in the municipality of Yaiza.
On the other hand, the municipality of San Bartolomé also requested the extension for the execution of the projects Project of adaptation and installations in the San Bartolomé Sports Center and Expansion of the San Bartolomé cemetery 2020, for which they have a cooperation from the Cabildo de Lanzarote of 1,067,051.05 euros.
As for the municipality of Teguise, which had an amount of 1,286,427.24 euros in the PCM of 2020, will have until July 31, 2024 to execute the interventions of Renovation in the Socio-cultural Center 'Fomento de Tao', roof of the Canarian ball court and multipurpose rooms for the Elderly and Youth; Basic and execution project of conditioning of green area for leisure in Tahíche; Adaptation of facilities and legalization of activity for Socio-cultural Center Caleta de Sebo; Public lighting facilities project in Avda. Islas Canarias, C/ Las Olas and adjacent streets in Costa Teguise; Project of rehabilitation and improvement of the playground and creation of recreational space in Muñique 'Parque La Familia' and Supply of thirty-eight (38) compact led solar luminaires.
Finally, the municipality of Tinajo will have until next July to execute the projects of Renovation of Municipal Offices, Renovation of CSC La Santa, Renovation of CSC El Cuchillo, Resurfacing of Calle El Guirre and Transversal asphalting to Calle Capellanía; for which it has a total amount that amounts to 466,849.14 euros.
