The Management of Health Services of Lanzarote, attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, welcomes these days the 18 new health professionals who will carry out their specialized training for the next four years at the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, at the Insular Hospital and health centers.

The new promotion incorporates, after the expansion of the number of places, seven internal resident doctors (MIR) of Family and Community Medicine, four internal resident nurses of Family and Community Nursing and a specialist in Geriatrics who will train at the Insular Hospital of Lanzarote.

In this edition, the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital welcomes for the first time a resident of Pediatrics, after receiving accreditation from the Ministry of Health to train pediatricians, as well as two nurses who will also train in this specialty. In the coming days, three nurses will also join to carry out their specialty in the Obstetrics and Gynecology service.

The Multiprofessional Teaching Unit of Family and Community Care, led by Dr. Verónica Gutiérrez, carries out training in the different services of the Hospital and in the health centers accredited for teaching, which are Titerroy, Valterra, Tías and San Bartolomé, where the residents will be guided by their corresponding tutors. Meanwhile, the specialty of Geriatrics, guided by Dr. Ruth Pazza, is developed entirely in the Insular Hospital of Lanzarote.

The manager of the Health Services of Lanzarote, José Luis Aparicio, welcomed the new promotion of residents, whom he encouraged to make the most of this training stage, to be demanding with themselves and share their doubts with the tutors, while asking for their involvement in the work they are beginning to develop in the health of Lanzarote.
