The mayor of Yaiza, Gladys Acuña, through a press release, has stated that the processing of the building permit for the house of the architect Carlos Morales was carried out in the previous term before she was mayor, thus responding to the information published by the newspaper La Provincia.

Acuña, accused within Operation Unión and called to testify by the judge investigating the case, also assures that it is false that she sent municipal workers to do work on a house owned by Dimas Martín.

"Never, neither in my private life nor, above all, in my political activity, have I acted in a way that is contrary to the law," says the mayor. It should be remembered that Morales, husband of Alexia of Greece, is also accused in this case.

Acuña, along with the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, and the mayor of Arrecife, Enrique Pérez Parilla, has been called to testify before the judge within Operation Unión.

Also going to testify are the CC councilor in Yaiza, Leonardo Rodríguez, the PSOE councilor of the Cabildo, Rubén Placeres, and the secretary of the Cabildo, Francisco Perdomo, as defendants. In addition, two technicians from the Cabildo have been called to testify as witnesses.
