The Local Police of Tías celebrates the day of its patron saint with recognitions and distinctions

The Local Police of Tías celebrated, this Wednesday, September 14, the day of its patron saint, Cristo de la Vera Cruz, with the mass offered in the church of San Antonio, Tías, and the subsequent lunch and presentation of awards and recognitions at the Seaside Los Jameos Playa hotel.

“Today is a day to pay tribute to the dedication and commitment of all of you to your neighbors, to the entire municipality of Tías, to help us live better, to be able to develop a full life, in freedom, in an environment of respect and where the values, rights and duties of citizens prevail”, said the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, on behalf of his government group and the entire corporation. 

The insular director of the General State Administration, Juan Ramón Pérez, the vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Marcos Bergaz, the head of the Local Police, Antonio Jesús Rodríguez, the captain of the Civil Guard, Armando Fernández, members of the government group and of the corporation of the Tías City Council, representatives of the judiciary and other authorities attended this celebration.  

“I want to emphasize that I am very proud of our Local Police, of all of you, because I know that you watch tirelessly over the municipality and everything around it”, added the mayor after congratulating both the agents and officers and their families. After this congratulation, the presentation of the awards took place.  

The distinguished with a distinctive plaque for permanence in active service for 35 years are Antonio Jesús Rodríguez, Víctor Jesús Hernández, Pablo Domingo Betancor, José Domingo Montelongo, José Jesús Díaz, León Enrique Acosta, Jacinto Germán López, Pedro Nolasco Rodríguez, Pablo Jesús Pérez and Domingo Francisco Hernández. 

The distinguished with a distinctive commendation for permanence in active service for 30 years are Gregorio Ezequiel Rojas, Francisco Jesús García, Luis Ramón Tejera, Gregorio Sebastián Aparicio and Fernando Javier Marrero. The distinguished with a distinctive cross for permanence in active service for 25 years is Francisco Javier Abad. 

The distinguished with a distinctive cross for permanence in active service for 20 years are Alberto David González, Agustín José Pérez, Francisco Manuel Jiménez, Alfonso Javier Martín and David Artiles.  

In addition, recognition was offered for the meritorious performance of police officers Félix Avero and Esteban Montelongo.
