Officials from any public administration can participate and the deadline to apply is fifteen working days

The Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands has published this Thursday, May 21, through the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC), the official call to fill the position of director of the Timanfaya National Park.

The regional minister responsible for the Area, José Antonio Valbuena, explained that "this call allows the participation of officials from any public administration that meets the required requirements and establishes that applications to participate in the procedure must be submitted within a period of fifteen working days".

Among the functions that the designated person will assume are the direction and administration of the centers, infrastructures and personal resources of this natural space; the drafting, execution and authorizations of the Rector Plan for Use and Management of the National Park, as well as the sectoral plans and regulations for its development; the formulation of the proposal for the annual Plan of Activities and Investments, as well as the execution of the expense and the budgetary control; and the technical direction of studies, works and services that are developed in this environment.

Applicants, among other requirements, must include in their application the curriculum vitae with essential data such as their academic qualifications, years of service, jobs held, merits and all the corresponding documentation to prove this information. The application can be submitted through the registry of the electronic headquarters of the Ministry, accessing through the link https://sede.gobcan.es/telccpt/.

The General Technical Secretariat of this Department or, where appropriate, the General Directorate of Public Function, after the deadline for submitting applications, will examine all those submitted and provide the mandatory report regarding compliance by the applicants of the requirements demanded for the performance of the position.

Currently, the national parks of the Canary Islands that depend on the regional government are Timanfaya (Lanzarote), Garajonay (La Gomera) and Caldera de Taburiente (La Palma).
