The Plenary Session of the Cabildo of Lanzarote approved last Friday to release another six million euros from its remnants and thus double the amount of the item destined to mitigate the impact of Covid-10 on small and medium-sized companies and self-employed workers of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. There will be, therefore, 12 million euros that, "initially", the first institution will inject from its own funds into the economy of micro-enterprises and self-employed workers of both islands.

Corujo has thanked "the responsibility and coherence of those who with their vote have supported an initiative that will provide security, stability and protection to hundreds of families on the island and, at the same time, will help dispel the uncertainty that one of the groups most affected by the crisis is going through." "These 6 million euros more will allow us to continue helping to revive a strategic sector for the island's economic fabric," he explains.

The president of the first island institution has expressed her confidence that the expansion of this line of aid "will give a new impetus to the recovery of the companies most affected by the health crisis and, therefore, to the reactivation of the island's labor market." It is essential that we face together the challenges that lie ahead," he said.

In addition, she has stated that she will continue working to inject new resources "that allow us to offer answers to the groups and sectors most affected in these extraordinary moments."

For her part, the Minister of Finance, Rosa Callero, wanted to thank the "extraordinary" work carried out by the technical team of the area, which "has made it possible to release these 6 million euros from the remainder to reach the largest possible number of aid applicants."
