The Cabildo of Lanzarote contributed during 2020 to the processing of 26 projects of the seven municipalities of the island, allocating a total of 9.3 million euros within the framework of the Municipal Cooperation Plan. The Island Corporation assures that its objective is to "favor the equitable development of the seven municipalities of the island and improve, equally, the quality of life of the population, regardless of the municipality in which they reside."

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, describes the "consensus" between the public administrations of the Island Board of Lanzarote as "a great success of this first stage of the legislature, managing not only to promote works and projects that improve the municipalities of the Island and its infrastructures, but also the creation of employment during the difficult time that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought."

In this line, the Councilor for Public Works, Jacobo Medina, also highlights "the great opportunity that the implementation of so many projects has meant for various companies on the island and, therefore, for their workers, thus achieving the creation of employment among small and medium-sized companies in Lanzarote and partially alleviating the complicated economic situation in which we find ourselves."
