The Cabildo of Lanzarote has celebrated this week the last Educational Coordination Tables of the 2024/2025 school year, consolidating a unique monthly practice in the Canary Islands that values the involvement and joint work between the island administration and the educational centers of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. This past Monday, May 20, the Vice-Principals' Table was held with the participation of representatives from Secondary and Baccalaureate centers, while this Tuesday, May 21, the Infant and Primary Table took place, both in the Plenary Hall of the Cabildo.

During the meetings, organized by the Education Area of the Cabildo, the 2024/2025 Educational Activities Report was presented, a comprehensive compendium of cultural, educational, and awareness-raising initiatives organized by the island Institution both alone and in collaboration with other entities. More than 19,500 students from Infant, Primary, Secondary, Baccalaureate, and Vocational Training have participated throughout the course in proposals ranging from school theater to educational robotics programs, including equality actions and meetings with professionals.

The Councilor for Education, Ascensión Toledo, highlighted that "these tables are a space for dialogue and active listening with the educational community, which allows us to plan from the reality of the classroom. The commitment of the teaching staff, who each month reserve time to participate in these meetings, makes possible a more adjusted, more effective, and, above all, more useful planning for our students."

Toledo stressed that "during this course, a dynamic, inclusive, and participatory island educational network has been consolidated, where, in addition to developing our own activities, we channel proposals from other areas of the Cabildo or entities that have something to contribute to the school environment."

The students have participated in nearly 40 activities promoted or coordinated by the Education Area throughout the course, and the activities reached more than 80 educational centers in Lanzarote and La Graciosa

In Secondary, Baccalaureate, and FP, 11,935 participants were counted, with outstanding initiatives such as the "Planéate 2025" program, the "Miniferia de las Ciencias", "School of Entrepreneurs", "Learn to Count", "We Jump the Barriers", or justice and equality workshops in collaboration with Social Welfare. Likewise, 7,592 students from Infant and Primary participated in didactic concerts, theater, robotics workshops, conferences, and school coexistence programs.

Activities such as "Ciberlandia", "Eres Lanzarote", "Súper Abuela", "Qué pacha mamá" or "Emocuidando al educador" have contributed to the competence and emotional development of the students. The programming included interdisciplinary proposals, own cultural productions, and actions in collaboration with local and regional entities. Similarly, the monthly educational tables had the regular participation of teachers from all levels, including enclave classrooms and special education centers.
