The Vice President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and Councilor for Public Works and Planning and Projects, Jacobo Medina, has announced that the institution has already completed the drafting of the project for the conditioning of the LZ-408 road between Nazaret (and Vuelta Ajai) and the intersection with the LZ-30, in the vicinity of the Teguise Agroindustrial Complex.

"The next step will be to ask the Teguise City Council for inter-administrative cooperation and the necessary technical reports to continue with the processing and award of a project in which the requests made from the consistory have been taken into account," explained the councilor.

Precisely, from the Cabildo it is pointed out that in the work meeting held in recent dates between the Councilor for Public Works and the Mayor, Oswaldo Betancort, both recognized that this is one of the pending projects that is "priority" to unblock due to the "poor condition" in which the pavement is located. "Since we assumed the government we have been very aware that we should look for a solution to this road of just over three kilometers but through which about 2,000 vehicles circulate or circulated daily," Medina said.

According to the Councilor for Public Works, "the project of the road that goes from Nazaret to the Complex, which is how we all know it, has a budget of three million euros, contemplates the execution of a roundabout at the intersection with the LZ-10, at the height of the Teleclub, the widening of the road, the construction of a shoulder and an improvement of the layout that will require expropriations of land that will be processed in parallel to the execution of the works." To the three million euros, according to the Cabildo, we must add one million "to face the 70 expropriations that are going to be carried out".

Other works claimed by Teguise

On the other hand, the Teguise City Council has also conveyed to the Councilor for Public Works the interest in the Cabildo being able to undertake the improvement of the LZ-406 road (Guatiza-Santa Margarita), the reinforcement of the LZ-405 pavement (Teseguite-El Mojón), as well as the roundabout of the Costa Teguise Clean Point; this last locality in which the island institution has executed several projects throughout the past year and more recently the construction of sidewalks on Las Palmeras Avenue, Vital Class and El Palmeral section.

Within the projects that are currently underway in Costa Teguise and that are financed by the Cabildo are the construction of the Civic Center and the Football Field with a budget of 960,000 euros and 850,000 euros, respectively.
