The Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has given the green light to the call for official study grants for the 2020-21 academic year, endowed with 700,000 euros. Specifically, both official face-to-face studies outside the island and official face-to-face and non-face-to-face studies carried out in Lanzarote will be eligible for aid.
These grants aim to cover students' expenses incurred while pursuing official studies valid throughout the national territory, such as the payment of public prices and academic fees, travel, accommodation and meals, as well as those related to the material and resources needed to develop their studies.
The president of the first island institution, María Dolores Corujo, celebrates the launch of a program that "benefits students and their families, as it provides relief for the household economy, promotes equal opportunities among students and opens the door to a better future", and thanks the collaboration of the University of Las Palmas Foundation, "which once again assumes the responsibility that it performed so well last year, processing the applications received with efficiency and diligence".
For her part, the Minister of Education, Paula Corujo, encourages participation in a program "that allows administrations to participate in educational success by responding to the needs of young people who are committed to training as a means of accessing the labor market".
