The Cabildo of Lanzarote observed a minute of silence at noon this Tuesday at the main entrance of the Cabildo headquarters for the death of the president of the León Provincial Council, Isabel Carrasco, who was shot dead this Monday in the street.

In this way, the first Island Corporation has joined the invitation made in this regard to all state local entities by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), as a sign of mourning for the murder of the also president of the PP of León. For the same reason, the official flags that fly in the Cabildo building will remain at half-mast throughout this Monday.

This act is in addition to the one carried out by the PP at the doors of its headquarters, and also to the one that took place in the Tías Town Hall. In this municipality, the Consistory workers, the mayor Pancho Hernández and the councilors of the Municipal Corporation have also observed this noon a minute of silence "in memory and rejection of the brutal murder of the president of the León Provincial Council".

In addition, "following the instructions of the Canary Federation of Municipalities (FECAM) and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), of which Carrasco was a director, the official flags of the Tías Town Hall are flying at half-mast from this noon as a sign of mourning".

According to the City Council, "residents of the town have joined this act where violence is rejected, in any of its forms, even more so a cold-blooded murder while Isabel Carrasco was leaving her house in León".
