The Atlantic Quartet, awarded in the UFAM (French Union of Musical Artists) competition, will offer a concert on Saturday, September 4 at the Cueva de los Verdes, within the summer concerts programmed by the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
This chamber group, formed by Jorge Betancor (soprano sax), Jonás Quesada (alto sax), Salvador Santana (tenor sax) and Sergio Yánez (baritone sax), has established itself as one of the main ones of this type in the Canary Archipelago, as shown by its multiple performances throughout the Canary Islands and the Peninsula. The quartet has also developed an important pedagogical work with the celebration of school concerts, conferences and courses in order to publicize the saxophone and its sounds.
Tickets for this new concert can be purchased, at a price of 15 euros, at the ticket offices of the Tourist Centers in Lanzarote.
In 2003, the Atlantic Quartet obtained the second prize in the Cajacanarias Chamber Music Competition held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In May 2006, this chamber group, with musicians from Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, was awarded the Second Prize in the UFAM (French Union of Musical Artists) competition. The event took place in the Héctor Berlioz Auditorium of the Curbevoie Conservatory of Music and had a jury of recognized prestige.
