The Arrecife City Council will hold a special party on December 31 to say goodbye to the year. This special party, in midday and afternoon hours, will have La Plazuela as its epicenter, in the historic center of this capital with a port origin as a city and capital. Last year a great atmosphere and public success was achieved.
The mayor encourages the residents to this party, which will start at 12 noon on Tuesday, December 31, where the City Council will culminate the celebration of the 225th anniversary of the founding of the municipality of Arrecife. The musical performances will culminate at 7:00 p.m.
Yonathan de León has highlighted that on the last day of the year the city will be the epicenter of events on the island of Lanzarote. From the morning, the El Reducto area and the Parque Islas Canarias will host the double sports events, which will be massive, where the San Silvestre Ciudad de Arrecife and the Swim Silvestre Arrecife will take place.
Next, the New Year's Eve party will start in the La Plazuela area, a few steps from the church square of San Ginés, where the successful Christmas stalls are located, and at night, also in the capital of Lanzarote, the Castillo de San José, in Arrecife will host the double broadcast of the chimes for Spain (at 11 p.m.) and all of the Canary Islands (12 a.m.), in a television initiative with Tele 5 and Cuatro, organized by the Tourist Centers, led by Councilor Ángel Vázquez. Without a doubt, some exciting hours to say goodbye to this year full of dynamization and works, emphasized the mayor.
Yonathan de León details that in all this environment where an important restoration area is concentrated, and the City Council is planning a family party to close the events of the foundation of Arrecife as a municipality.
Arrecife was born as a port and city. Precisely, the creation of the Parish of San Ginés Obispo allowed the creation of the municipality of Arrecife on December 27, 1798. The municipal activity started on January 1, 1799, and this year 2024 the celebration of this 225th anniversary culminates.
Orchestra and DJ performances
Councilor Oscar López, head of the Department of Acts and Events of the Arrecife City Council, informs all residents and visitors of the detailed program of this municipal activity to say goodbye to the year 2024 with a great party in La Plazuela. The event, which will be held this Tuesday, December 31, will offer a few hours full of live music and entertainment, from 12:00 to 19:00 hours. The program includes the performances of outstanding musical orchestras and DJs that will fill the city center with rhythm and joy. Among the guest groups are:

La Plazuela will be the epicenter of music and celebration, also promoting support for the hotel and commercial sector that are located in the Arrecife Open Commercial Area, even more so on these special dates.
