The Department of Public Works, Housing and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands through the General Directorate of Road Infrastructure, reports on the execution of the works, during the night of this Thursday, August 22, for the restitution of the two lanes in each direction of the LZ-2 road, which will allow the highway to return to its previous capacity.
From 8:00 p.m. this Thursday, August 22, until 6:00 a.m. this Friday, the 23rd, traffic on both roadways will be diverted through the service roads of Playa Honda.
These works are carried out within the framework of the project for the new underpass of the LZ-2, P.K 2+500, in the municipality of San Bartolomé.
On May 21, the Department proceeded to initiate traffic diversions on the section of the LZ-2 that runs at the height of Playa Honda, for the implementation of the boxes that form the structure under the roadways of the highway.
To transfer traffic from one roadway to another, two median crossings were enabled, located at PPKKs 2+340 and PK 2+600 of the aforementioned road.
In this way, it has been possible to maintain traffic on the LZ-2, reducing its circulation to one lane in each direction by means of roadway diversions carried out through median crossings executed during the works. The maintenance of traffic during the push has been possible thanks to the construction of a micropile screen in the median.
The General Directorate of Road Infrastructure requests drivers to plan their trips taking these circumstances into account and to exercise extreme caution and respect the existing signage.
