The Teguise City Council approved this Friday a budget modification that means increasing the economic item aimed at students in the municipality, about 60 thousand euros more compared to 2022, that is, a total of 310 thousand euros to pay for the transfer of students, both inside and outside the island, coinciding with the provisional publication of those admitted by the Education area and with a forecast to make the payment effective next March.
On the other hand, subsidies to the primary sector have been approved with an amount of 268,000 euros, destined to support agricultural and livestock professionals in difficult times aggravated by economic inflation. It should be noted that a large part is based on subsidizing animal feed and water transport, which, according to figures from FASAT (Federation of Agricultural and Fisheries Associations) and other agricultural and livestock associations in the municipality, reach 80 thousand euros in cost.
The Education and Subsidies area reminds that students who have applied for transport assistance have 10 business days from this Monday to present allegations and expects that the final list will be published in early March. And with respect to aid to the primary sector, once the public exhibition period is over, the payment will be made effective also in the month of March.
