The wave of fines that many residents of Arrecife have suffered for parking in prohibited places has also reached PP councilors and advisors in the City Council, as revealed by the PSOE.
“The practice of parking wherever they want is a custom that the different positions of the Popular Party have been developing for months”, denounces the socialist spokesperson, Cristina Duque, who questions the “arrogant attitude” with which the mayor's councilors and advisors are acting.
“The situation has reached such a point that in recent times there has been a stream of fines that the Local Police of Arrecife has been forced to impose, given the lack of respect that these people had for the basic traffic rules of the city”, he states.
“Arrecife cannot put a policeman behind every PP public official”, questions the socialist councilor, who emphasizes that “politicians who are paid by the City Council not only have to respect the rules like any citizen, but they also have to set an example”.
“It is outrageous that the police have to be systematically fining PP public officials because they park badly”, urges Duque, who also recalls that “the Local Police of Arrecife is a scarce body, and must manage its resources efficiently, in such a way that public officials must facilitate their work”.
