The Nueva Canarias candidate for the Cabildo and the Tinajo City Council, Juan Manuel Sosa, has resigned from his position as elected councilor in the municipality, and he has done so without even informing his party. According to what NC has confirmed to La Voz, it was when they went to collect the credentials of the new councilors that they learned that Sosa had resigned.
Regarding his position as elected councilor in the Cabildo, Nueva Canarias fears that he will keep it and try to negotiate a government agreement on his own, outside of the formation. For this reason, NC has already sent a burofax to Sosa asking him "to refrain from negotiating anything with anyone, because that is the party's responsibility."
Sosa's position in the first island institution would become important if the agreement being negotiated between Coalición Canaria and the PSOE does not materialize. If CC chooses to seek an alliance with the PP, it would need the support of two other councilors. One could come from the PIL and the other from Juan Manuel Sosa himself.
As for Tinajo, Jesús Machín (CC) won with an absolute majority, so he does not need the support of any other force to form a government. In this municipality, finally, the one who was the head of the NC list will not take possession of the councilor's position, so it will be the next on the list, Ramón Ortiz, who will assume that position.
