The Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of the Civil Guard has denounced a private individual for the construction of a tool shed in the municipality of Tinajo, for not having a municipal license or territorial qualification.
The work, according to Seprona, is located on rustic land, although the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, did not want to specify the specific place where it is located or who is the defendant. However, Machín has stated that "the owner has already applied for a license to legalize the work", which "has been stopped since Seprona reported the events."
Seprona has transferred the complaint to both the Tinajo City Council and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, although from the island institution they claim not to have "evidence of this" so far.
The complaint has also been notified to the Agency for the Protection of the Urban and Natural Environment, which must determine what happens with these works and whether or not the construction entails a sanction. However, the Government of the Canary Islands is waiting to appoint a new director of the APMUN and, for the moment, has not provided any information in this regard.
