The San Bartolomé City Council has proceeded to change the streetlights on Mesana Street in Playa Honda, according to the Councilor for Public Services of the Consistory, Alexis Tejera, "in order to continue improving the energy efficiency of public lighting gradually."
"This is a sample of the municipal project we are working on, which includes the change to efficient luminaires throughout the town of Playa Honda, since in the rest of the towns they were already changed in previous years.

Specifically, a total of 13 new streetlights have now been installed in order to improve the energy efficiency of Mesana Street, replacing the existing sodium vapor luminaires with LED luminaires that considerably reduce consumption and light pollution. The works have been carried out by the company INELCOM and the budget has amounted to 27,539.57 euros. The change to efficient lighting in Playa Honda will involve an investment that will exceed one million euros, according to Tejera.
