The Department of Public Works of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, led by Jacobo Medina, has reinforced the cleaning of the roads leading to Mancha Blanca, on the occasion of the pilgrimage of Los Dolores that will be held this Saturday, September 9.

“It is essential that the pilgrims who travel to the hermitage of Los Dolores this weekend, walk along completely clean roads and paths, without garbage or objects that could cause a dangerous situation,” explains Jacobo Medina.

The councilor points out that the cleaning work is focused on the LZ-20, between the entrance roundabout of San Bartolomé and the roundabout of the Monumento al Campesino; and on the LZ-35, the road that connects La Vegueta with Mancha Blanca.

“The work of the service workers is enormous, and thanks to them the pilgrims will see clean and safe roads,” adds Medina.

The Cabildo of Lanzarote reminds citizens to respect traffic signs when making the pilgrimage to Los Dolores, to wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and to follow the instructions of the State Security Forces and Corps.

Likewise, the Island Corporation appreciates the work of the hundreds of volunteers who collaborate in the celebration of the patron saint festivities.
