The Local Committee of Nueva Canarias-Canarian Bloc (NC-bc) in Arrecife wants to express "its discontent with what they consider a 'complicit silence' of the municipal government group of the Popular Party (PP) and Canarian Coalition (CC) in the face of the imminent closure of the Insular Hospital".
This is expressed by its local spokesperson, Sheila Guillén, who criticizes "the lack of political and institutional will that the Arrecife government group maintains in the face of such serious problems as the transfer of the elderly from the Insular Hospital to the building attached to Molina Orosa, and the consequent loss of quality of care and life for users."
We do not understand, explains Guillén, “that Arrecife has not been concerned about this decision by the Government of the Canary Islands that affects, not only a health infrastructure for use, but also a heritage symbol of the capital such as the Insular”. The Canarian continues, alluding to a “banal prioritization by the PP and CC accustomed to generating smoke screens while dismantling the public, attacking historical heritage and neglecting the true problems that the residents of the municipality have.”
“Does anyone know what they think about the housing crisis that Arrecife is suffering?; What about mobility?; What about cleaning?; What about the decision that the Government of the Canary Islands has made to dismantle home help for municipalities?”, the Canarians ask themselves.
With everything, from NC-bc they expect a clear position from the Arrecife government group regarding a first-rate hospital infrastructure with a great emotional link for the people of Arrecife and Lanzarote. “We residents have the right to know what our leaders think about the public issues that affect us”, they state from the organization.
