Nueva Canarias has officially inaugurated this Sunday its new electoral headquarters, located on Malpaís street in the town of Yé, in the municipality of Haría. The Canarian nationalists, who have been supported by their spokesperson in the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Luis Campos, have emphasized during the inauguration ceremony that their objective is to commit themselves "to everything they really" can do, "without deceiving anyone, but being clear that a much better Haría is possible" than the one that currently exists.
"There is a horizon of hope and it is in this place, in this space, working, meeting and bringing content, where we can not only talk about those dreams, but imagine, dream and turn those dreams into realities starting on May 28," said the national spokesperson for NC, Luis Campos.
More than "proud", for his part, the Canarian nationalist candidate for Mayor of Haría, Marcos Lemes, was during the event, who thanked the attendees for their participation in the event. "The enthusiasm for the municipality of Haría and for you overwhelms us, we are here to stay; we come with great desire to work and I am very proud of the team of men and women who accompany us," Lemes said at the beginning of the meeting.
The NC candidate in Haría highlighted his team's commitment to "steer a party with history, from here, that will take care of the north." Lemes pointed out the main lines that make up his model of municipality, which revolve around democratic quality and institutional stability, the politics of care and dependency, the strengthening and increase of public services such as health and safety, youth, friendly and inclusive urban planning, environmental sustainability, the primary sector and Canarian culture and identity.
Lemes exposed various "current shortcomings in the municipality of Haría" and recalled "the achievements of Nueva Canarias" during the current term. "We have demonstrated this by ensuring that the Mala Clinic has a 24-hour emergency service, which is the only important thing that has been done in this failed legislature," the candidate stressed.
Yoné Caraballo, candidate for Lanzarote and La Graciosa of NC to the Parliament of the Canary Islands, also did not want to miss the event, who insisted again that "changing many things in the current panorama is possible with the enthusiasm and desire of this great team." Caraballo highlighted the will of the Canarian nationalists to "take care of people, their mental health and also the environment" of the island. "We are here to take care of the north and solve the problems that people in the north have every day, so that, for example, the boys and girls of Arrieta can have a pediatrician nearby; or so that the people of Órzola who suffer from ailments can have a health center in Mala open," said Caraballo, who stressed that "with Marcos Lemes this is possible."
For her part, the national secretary of Health and Social Welfare, Daisy Villalba, valued the "human sensitivity and dedication to care" of Marcos Lemes and the NC team in Haría. "The municipality has to grow a lot in terms of social services and needs people like that, a team like you to take care of our elders. I know they are going to do very well because they have doctors, social workers and, above all, human sensitivity," said Villalba.
Also candidates for other mayoralties of Lanzarote, such as Antonio Morales, candidate in Tinajo in the next elections with the alliance between the Renovating Movement of Tinajo (MRT) and Nueva Canarias, highlighted the difficulties involved in starting from scratch in projects, "difficulties that are a luxury when projects like this have people who show their faces and who are brave in taking this step."
And about people, especially, about the residents who make up his municipality, the NC candidate in Teguise, Dr. Fernando Jiménez, spoke. "We are concerned about the streets, the lighting, the services, of course we are ... but above all we are concerned about the people," he said. "We are concerned about the lives of each and every one of the residents who make up our municipality," he said.
In the same vein, the NC candidate for Mayor of Tías, Arminda Barreto, spoke, who again bet on "the change that we so much need in aspects such as Education". Barreto, who thanked Marcos Lemes and the Local Committee of Haría for their support to the Local Committee of Tías, recalled very emotionally that her grandmother was from the north of Lanzarote and thanked the conviction of those who have made that "today I am here in this exciting project" and bet on the possibility that "the change and the island-home that we all imagine, hand in hand with the Canarian nationalists, will be possible from next May 28."
