The Canarians believe that supporting the extreme right-wing policy by CC and the PP is an "aberration" for renouncing the protection of children.

Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-BC) described this Wednesday as "indecent" that the Canarian Government, presided over by Fernando Clavijo, "embraces the Meloni route to deport unaccompanied migrant minors to non-EU countries".

The Canarians believe that supporting the extreme right-wing policy by CC and the PP is an "aberration" by renouncing the protection of children and the fundamental values of human rights. For Nueva Canarias-BC, it is "clear that they are willing to apply the Meloni policy so as not to disappoint the Ayusos of the Popular Party".

The president of NC-BC, Román Rodríguez, described as "indecent" that the president of the European Commission, Úrsula von der leyen, imitates the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, to create migrant detention centers outside the European Union (EU). But even "more savage" he considered that CC and the PP incorporate the boys and girls who arrive on the coasts of the Archipelago so that "they are also deported to third countries". The parliamentary spokesperson for the same political formation, Luis Campos, stated that it is a "genuine aberration".

For both leaders, "supporting the policies of the extreme right" by CC and the PP is "lamentable because it clashes with humanitarian principles and child protection". A resignation, Rodríguez and Campos censured, to "protect the best interests of the child and the fundamental values of human rights that we have always defended in Canarian society and within the framework of Canarian public institutions from the town halls through the island councils and the Parliament".

The president of progressive Canarianism observed that the approach of CC and the PP is not in the sphere of government decisions, but corresponds to the judicial power. But "just that an externalization strategy is valued", as a way to resolve the humanitarian crisis facing the Canary Islands, is "totally regrettable", added Campos.

Before the political convenience of the Canarian right-wing pact, Nueva Canarias. BC is committed to prioritizing "always" the well-being of the most vulnerable people. "We will never defend" decisions that may "lay the foundations for harsher and less humanitarian measures in the future", defended the president.

Luis Campos acknowledged that the proposal of CC and the PP "does not take us by surprise" if we take into account that, a week ago, Fernando Clavijo after a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco, Nasser Bourita; betrayed the Saharawi people, the historical positions of the Canarians, the Parliament and nationalism on the right to self-determination of Western Sahara.

"Unfortunately we are seeing", according to NC-BC, that Clavijo's Executive looks "more and more like the governments of the extreme right". The same ones, they added, that the president of the state PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, supports in Europe and with whom Fernando Clavijo signed a unilateral agreement on migration, breaking the unity of the Canarian migration pact.

The "true" person responsible for the situation facing the Canary Islands and in which unaccompanied migrant minors find themselves is a consequence of the "short-termism and tacticism" of the PP, they maintained. With their refusal in the Canary Islands and at the state level to seek a solution, for Luis Campos it is "clear that they are willing to apply the Meloni policy so as not to disappoint the Ayusos of the Popular Party".
