Naviera Armas has chartered the catamaran Nixe to replace the Volcán de Tindaya on the maritime service between Playa Blanca and Corralejo from this Thursday. This temporary substitution allows the ferry that makes the usual journey to undergo its mandatory biannual review, which will last for one month.
The catamaran Nixe begins its service this Thursday morning, making six daily trips between the two islands. In this way, the shipping company does not interrupt or modify the maritime service provided that runs daily the seven miles that separate the two islands.
The catamaran Nixe has been rented by Armas to the shipping company Baleria, which makes connections in the Balearic archipelago. The substitute ship has capacity for 536 passengers and 90 cars, with a length of 110 linear meters of cargo. The boat is built in aluminum, has a length of 63 meters and reaches a speed of 32 knots.
