Maritime connections between Lanzarote, La Graciosa and Fuerteventura are suspended due to the strong storm hitting the Archipelago. The port of Arrecife is the only one operating with "normality" on the island, according to the Port Authority. Despite the rough seas, a Naviera Armas ship was able to leave for Las Palmas and a cruise ship.

In the port of Playa Blanca, both Naviera Armas and Fred Olsen canceled their routes to Corralejo this Monday. The situation has not changed this Tuesday, as these companies have not been able to navigate normally either. Although the ports of Playa Blanca and Corralejo are not closed, navigation is very difficult, so the ferries are moored.

"There are many waves, a lot of swell and groundswell outside. That's why they finally decided not to leave," they said from this port. This Tuesday first thing in the morning a Fred Olsen ship left from the port of Corralejo to Playa Blanca, where it was docked. The company Naviera Armas has also managed to get a ship out of Corralejo, which has crossed to Lanzarote to return to the neighboring island, where it has finally been moored.

From the port of Playa Blanca they estimate that throughout this afternoon "the weather will subside and the sea will drop," so it is likely that all maritime routes can be restored on Wednesday.

The airport, operational

As for the operability of the Guacimeta airport, according to the Aena press office in the Canary Islands, there have been no significant incidents first thing in the morning and all flights have been able to take off or land. Thus, there have been no significant delays or diversions due to the strong wind, according to these sources.
