Loly Luzardo regrets that the Government is not considering the creation of new Civil Guard barracks in Lanzarote this year
The senator for the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, Loly Luzardo, has presented a question in the Upper House in which she asks the Government about the investments it plans to make, for this year 2008, in the Civil Guard barracks. According to the response given by the Executive, in the case of Lanzarote, only investments are contemplated to expand the Civil Guard barracks in Yaiza, with a budget amounting to 731,219.37 euros, of which 73,121.94 euros will be invested this year and the expansion of the Tías barracks, whose budget is 540,059.93 euros, although for this year the Government intends to spend 55,849.95 euros. Loly Luzardo has regretted that the Government does not include, in the investments planned for this year 2008, works as demanded as the construction of the Civil Guard barracks in the tourist town of Playa Blanca or the creation of a permanent post of the Benemérita on the Island of La Graciosa. For the senator of the Popular Group, the recovery of the barracks in the northern town of Haría is also a priority work and has criticized that the Government does not contemplate economic items to carry it out.
