The monitoring of the strike in the construction sector in Lanzarote would not have reached even 10 percent, according to data handled by the president of the Association of Construction Entrepreneurs of Lanzarote, Neftalí Acosta. "We have consulted with the employers and the conclusion is that the strike is having very little impact," he says.
Acosta explains that there have been no companies that have been particularly affected by the strike and that the figures have been more or less similar in almost all cases. The only exception, he says, has been "in some work that is near the town hall, and the workers did not go just in case", due to the possible presence of pickets.
"In some companies, the workers have not gone out of fear," insisted the president of the association, who maintains that some have even reached agreements to recover the hours another day.
In any case, Acosta also points out that the day is developing without incidents and, at least until noon this Wednesday, there had been no problems with pickets at any work or company.
