The unionist León Fajardo has completed his seventh day on hunger strike "and has already lost a little more than seven kilos", according to his spokesperson and union colleague, Ramón Pérez. "Logically, as the days go by, the exhaustion is already noticeable on his face. As for the rest of his body's functions, according to the doctor who is treating him, everything is going well", he adds.

At the end of this first week of strike, Ramón assures that there has still been no manifestation on the part of Aena: "No, they haven't said absolutely anything yet." However, the negotiations that began before this strike started continue, "to review the file and see what the situation is and to resolve this situation. I imagine that when something is known, they will tell us."

Regarding Fajardo's mood, Ramón Pérez says that "he is a bit tired, but the important thing is that he is aware of the situation and how harmful it can be to his health, and even so he is willing to go as far as necessary". The spokesperson points out that, contrary to what happened seven months ago, León "didn't warn anyone, not even his wife, and when we asked him why he didn't, he says that the other time it was no use waiting and he didn't want anyone to change his mind." Ramón recalls that "he suddenly called me and said: Let me know that at such and such time I'm going to stand there and until they get me out one way or another or give me the card that they have so unfairly taken away from me, I'm not moving".

"They have made him feel useless"

"This will have to be resolved by someone and that someone is the same people who created the problem, that is, the director of this airport or Aena as a whole," says Ramón Pérez. According to the head of organization of CCOO, "here the principle of authority has prevailed on the part of the director of this airport, there has been abuse of power and the bad thing about this is that it has been by mutual agreement between Iberia and the airport."

After the Justice annulled his dismissal, León Fajardo began to receive his salary again, "without being allowed access to his job or the performance of his work." Something that according to the unionist, "has made him feel that he was being treated like a useless person, they made him feel useless, and he felt it was unfair to receive a salary without them taking advantage of his professionalism."

Finally, León Fajardo's spokesperson affirms that he "is very clear that he is willing to go to the last consequences. He has been preparing himself psychologically because he knows that at least in 35 or 40 days this is not going to be resolved and he is very clear about it."
