The Cabildo of Lanzarote paid tribute this Monday to the four students from the island with the highest grades on the University Entrance Exam (PAU). The students are among the ten best grades in the province of Las Palmas.

"This is a recognition of excellence, of the work that often goes unnoticed but has a profound impact on the future of our Lanzarote and La Graciosa," said President Oswaldo Betancort. "They are a source of pride for the conejera and graciosera society. From the Cabildo, we are at their entire disposal and will put all the institutional tools at our disposal so that this talent returns to the island," he said.
For her part, the Minister of Education, Ascensión Toledo, highlighted that these achievements are the result of years of effort, perseverance and vocation. "Today we value the people who strive and work, the resilient ones. The society of Lanzarote can feel proud and has reasons to continue betting on a quality education that provides equal opportunities to all students," she indicated.
The vice-rector of the ULPGC, David Sánchez, congratulated the students and highly valued the fact that four Lanzarote residents are among the ten best records in the province. "It is a clear sign of the academic potential that exists on this island. From the university we will continue working to accompany them on their path and promote the development of this talent," he added.
In addition, the island director of Education, Carmen Pellón, congratulated the students, teachers and families for the effort and work achieved. She also clarified that she is doubly congratulated since two of the students were her students, so she has been able to see their academic evolution closely.
The act concluded with the delivery of a small institutional gift to the four students and words of encouragement for their university stage, which is now beginning.
