The CEO of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, Ángel Vázquez, spoke this Thursday morning on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero about why the increase in the new rates for these spaces has been temporarily halted and what the expected prices would be.
Vázquez explained on the morning show Buenos días, Lanzarote that although the idea was to approve a new increase in the centers' rates in the last Board of Directors meeting, the second of the legislature, its update has been put on hold until tour operators and travel agencies study the current situation based on their reservations.
The CEO explained that travel agencies have requested more time to study the measures and thus be able to contact tour operators to finalize contracts. "No problem, we can delay it," Vázquez stated, explaining that the tariff increase would begin to be applied next January, so its approval can be delayed to give tourism companies time to update contracts.
With this increase, the entrance fee to Montañas del Fuego would rise to 30 euros. "The idea is that part of that increase is earmarked, that it is focused on investments that we have in mind," Vázquez explained. Currently, and after a previous increase, Montañas del Fuego costs 22 euros.
In this regard, and barring any changes, the prices being considered are that Jameos del Agua and Cueva de Los Verdes would cost 17 euros, the Jardín de Cactus around nine, and the Castillo de San José and the Mirador del Río five euros.
About the 19,000 euro expense on a credit card
"If you consider that spending 19,000 euros when some celebrity comes, some peninsular politician, some politician, some counselor for the activity that I generate, which doubles in income and benefits, spending 19,000 euros on a shared card with directors and with these people I'm telling you about," Ángel Vázquez stated, who assured that "it is perfectly justified, as the financial director explained yesterday [this Wednesday]."
The CEO indicated that "with what I generate in this company, which doubles in revenue and profits," he added, and emphasized that "it is a perfectly affordable amount without any kind of problem."
