The PP councilor in the Cabildo and candidate for the presidency, Jacobo Medina, is committed to "improving the road infrastructure in the south of the island and considers that the duplication of the Yaiza-Playa Blanca road "should be a common objective of the three administrations involved for the next term".
Medina points out his commitment to the execution of this road, "an old aspiration of Yaiza that becomes relevant to decongest the high intensity of traffic that is registered daily and put an end to the queues of vehicles that are generated at specific times of the day due to the large transit of tourists and heavy vehicles."
The councilor of the Popular Party highlights "the development that the town of Playa Blanca has experienced both from the tourist and port point of view", through "the inter-island connections with Fuerteventura". "An unquestionable first-class tourist destination and forces us, the public administrations, to guarantee the full mobility of residents and tourists in conditions of maximum security," says Medina.
"It is essential to guarantee mobility in the south of the island in the medium and long term"
For the councilor it is essential that the Government of the Canary Islands "commits to guarantee mobility in the south of the island in the medium and long term", taking into account that soon "new tourist accommodations will be incorporated into the current offer of the town", he recalls.
