The lawyer Ignacio Díaz de Aguilar has denied before the judge María Dolores García all the statements made by José Francisco Reyes about him. This was explained by his lawyer and office colleague, Miguel Losada, after Díaz de Aguilar gave testimony for more than 3 hours before the magistrate.
"As it could not be otherwise, Ignacio Díaz de Aguilar has denied all the accusations made against him. He has clarified that they are false," Losada assured. For this reason, he has requested the dismissal of the case and, in addition, has announced that he will file a lawsuit against the former mayor of Yaiza "for false accusations and accusations".
Likewise, regarding whether the charges against his client are maintained, Losada indicated that "the figure of continuing as charged does not exist. He has been summoned to testify, he has testified and no one has pointed out anything else to him. In due course, the prosecutor will have to say what he asks for. We will ask for the dismissal," he clarified.
On the other hand, this lawyer did not want to reveal the content of his client's statements and stated that, in this sense, he was not going to make any comment, "given the leaks that have occurred" on this matter. Thus, several lawyers, including himself, have filed "verbal" complaints with María Dolores García, who in turn has asked them to "be considerate" and not make statements.
Losada has assured that Reyes' lawyer, Pablo Luna, has confirmed to them that the former vice president of the PNL has sent a letter to the judge and the Public Prosecutor in which he retracts his statement and assures that he acted "under pressure". "We know this because the lawyer told us. I would have to know what the content of the letter is to assess it, but I don't know," he stressed.
