Flamingo beach in Playa Blanca is fenced off and signs prohibiting bathing can be seen on the sand. Ganemos Yaiza has denounced that the reason for this closure to bathing could be "spills" and also that the City Council has assured them that it "does not know the reasons" for this closure, although the signs bear the municipal letterhead.

Ganemos Yaiza explains that, according to what the residents of the area have told them, this situation has been going on since at least this Tuesday. The formation points out that these "spills could presumably be fecal" and has demanded that the southern Consistory report on the matter.

"We demand an immediate analysis of the water and that citizens be informed of exactly what the current situation is, the causes and what is being done about it to remedy it," Ganemos Yaiza asks the local Corporation.
