Dimas returns to prison after testifying at the Civil Guard barracks

The historical leader of the PIL, Dimas Martín, returned after 9 p.m. this Saturday to the Tahíche penitentiary center, where he had been arrested five hours earlier by UCO agents. After taking him to the Civil Guard barracks to take his statement again in the framework of the "Unión" case, Dimas has been transferred back to prison.

This is the second time that the PIL leader has been arrested in prison, and both times for the same case. The first was on May 25, 2009, when Operation "Unión" broke out, and now in the framework of the third phase of this operation, baptized as Operation "Jable".

Although he was already the main defendant in the case, new fronts have now been opened against the PIL leader, related to alleged money laundering, for a figure that would amount to about 8.5 million euros. According to the UCO investigation, the eight people who have been added to the list of detainees, including his daughter, Susana Martín, would have helped Dimas to "hide" the fortune he would have amassed in recent decades, and which would be distributed in half a hundred properties registered in the name of third parties.
