Ciudadanos has proposed this Tuesday that the Cabildo convert the house it acquired on Fajardo street into a food market, to "give use to a house that has been an economic ruin for the people of Lanzarote". This was expressed by the Cs councilor in the island corporation, Benjamín Perdomo, who denounces that the government group "has been incapable of adequately managing" the use of this property that it bought in 2013 and that was going to be used for an archaeological museum that is still not seeing the light.

Perdomo explained that "in other islands historical houses are used to house food markets where many activities are integrated", so he considers that "the Cabildo of Lanzarote is facing a great opportunity to promote the primary sector, which is not given the importance it deserves".

In this sense, he pointed out that "the side aisles could be used to place small artisan kiosks", in order to "also promote local production", in addition to "attracting visitors to the market".

"The Fajardo house needs a useful outlet for the people of Lanzarote, and that does not happen through an archaeological museum," said the Cs councilor, who has asked the Cabildo of Lanzarote to "study the possibility of installing said market in order to recover once and for all a historical and emblematic place for the conejeros".
