The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, has come out to deny the spokesperson for the Popular Party in the Island Corporation, Jacobo Medina, who this Tuesday accused the Government group of hiding the file that led to the suspension of the Isla de los Volcanes Rally. “No one here has any interest in hiding anything,” Corujo has assured.
According to the president, "it is absolutely false, and it would also be absurd, that the Government group is trying to hide documentation that Mr. Medina and the Popular Party had at their disposal five days after requesting the file and that, in addition, it was sent to them electronically a few days later”.
“But also, all the reports made by the Cabildo departments were attached to the resolution denying the celebration of the rally, up to a total of 85 pages, which I suppose Mr. Medina has not had time to read, given his dedication as an advisor in the Arrecife City Council”, added the president, referring to the position that Medina also holds as advisor to Ástrid Pérez in the capital.
Regarding the rally, the president affirms that she regrets “the damage caused to the very numerous motor sport fans on the island with the suspension of the event”, and has assured that the Institution “is collecting information to learn about and analyze what happened and prevent this situation from happening again.”
“With everything”, she concluded, “we continue working so that the next requests have all the guarantees and the pertinent authorizations”.
