Contigo Teguise + Unido is preparing an ambitious reconstruction plan for the municipality of Teguise starting on May 28. A plan that prioritizes a service as basic as public sewage and makes it reach populations such as Nazaret, Tahíche, important areas of Costa Teguise, Los Cocoteros... etcetera. Laureano Álvarez, candidate for mayor of Teguise, confirms that “Oswaldo Betancort and Olivia Duque have accustomed the citizens of Nazaret, Tahíche or areas of Costa Teguise, among others, to live without sewage, with black wells, as if Teguise were the third world, discharging into the subsoil.”
An aspect that, unfortunately, perfectly reflects the abandonment of Teguise, is the fact that it is a municipality that has been growing while collecting taxes, licenses, IBIs,... but with the deceitful inaction habitual in CC, it does not adapt its services with the minimum requirements of a modern and environmentally responsible society.
From Contigo Teguise "we want to promote a sanitation plan in coordination with the Water Consortium to gradually bring prosperity and comfort to all the payments of Teguise". “Oswaldo and Olivia have worsened the municipality, town by town, street by street, everything in general is worse. That is why we first need to update it, with things as basic as having public sanitation.”
Finally, they point out "to start such an important process of change it is necessary to have a fundamental quality, that of wanting to work, and the determination to cede land and facilitate the work of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo of Lanzarote". “Since these two people govern Teguise, nothing has been done in the municipality, not even with governments of the Canarian Coalition in Cabildo and Autonomy”, concludes Laureano Álvarez.
