CD Evesport has confirmed that it will continue with the organization of all rally competitions assigned for this season in Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, after a meeting with the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the Minister of Sports, the presidents of the RFEDA and the FALP and the organizer of the Isla de los Volcanes Rally.
"We hereby inform you that once we have met with the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the RFEDA we have reached an agreement for the reactivation of the sports activity of the Evesport Sports Club, planned for this season in Lanzarote", said the president of CD Evesport, José Víctor Rodríguez, in the statement.
It should be noted that this decision was made after a "parenthesis" in its sports activities, driven by the cancellation of the Isla de los Volcanes Rally last April due to the lack of environmental permits.
"It has been necessary to have sufficient guarantees to organize the committed events, we regret the inconvenience and apologize to the automotive community for the alarm that has generated", they add.
Therefore, the island will continue with the calendar approved for this year 2022, which has as its most immediate event the Haría Ascent, on June 18, followed by the Tomás Viera Rallysprint, Tinajo Slalom, Yaiza Rallysprint and Isla de Lanzarote Rally, all of them "scoring events" for several championships of regional, provincial and island category.
Also, in a statement issued by the Cabildo, the president Loli Corujo has explained the details of the commitment made with the RFEDA and the FALP to resume the activity of motorsport in Lanzarote, contemplating "the regulation in a timely manner" of the authorizations for the celebration of the different island competitions.
With regard to the Isla de los Volcanes, the RFEDA has announced that it will "assess the recovery this season of the rally that should never have been canceled, when the organization of CD. Evesport already had its celebration underway".
Without going any further, the president Miguel Angel Domínguez, accompanied by the Minister of Sports Alfredo Mendoza, will travel to the next round of the S-CER that takes place this Saturday in Córdoba to "contact directly with the teams and drivers personally and convince them to return to the Lanzarote rally".
