TheArrecife Prosecutor's Office has requested the contracting department of the Arrecife City Council for the files corresponding to several municipal contracts, including those related to Navilan 2023, the 2024 Carnivals, and the April 2024 Fair, as La Voz has learned.

The request, which reportedly occurred this Tuesday, December 16, would correspond to a preliminary phase to analyze all these files after a complaint was filed. For the moment, no further details have emerged regarding the scope of the request or the deadlines for analyzing the documentation required by the Prosecutor's Office.

As will be recalled, for months there have been rumors about a possible lawsuit filed in the courts regarding alleged irregularities in the processing of these contracts

In parallel, the local political debate has focused on the City Council's economic management, especially on the decisions adopted by the Mayor's Office regarding the Intervention reports. In this regard, it has been criticized that the mayor of Arrecife has overridden nearly 1,200 objections from municipal Intervention in just over two years, a figure that has raised questions about the functioning of administrative procedures.
