A resident of Lanzarote has filed a complaint against her ex-partner, his sister, and the sister's boyfriend for allegedly setting her car on fire last December 8th in the early morning hours in the Argana Alta neighborhood of Arrecife, and for setting fire to another vehicle parked next to it.
In the complaint filed with the National Police, which La Voz has accessed, the woman recounted that she was in her home sleeping when the fire started. Her son, her mother, and her mother's partner, who owns the second affected car, were also in the same building.
In the aforementioned complaint, he informs the National Police that he did not realize his vehicle was on fire during the night because he was sleeping, but that upon seeing the security camera footage he has **installed on the facade of the house**, he was able to see a seemingly young man spraying the rear and surroundings of his car. The man allegedly set fire to the flammable liquid and fled the scene.
This resident of Arrecife stated at the police station that her ex-partner, with whom she has a legal dispute and who had a restraining order until recently, could be one of the causes of the fire. At the same time, she pointed to her sister and her sister's partner, whom she accuses of having threatened her and for whom she says she feels fear.
The woman states in this police document that the person seen setting fire to the vehicles is neither of the two men reported, but accuses them of being the masterminds behind the arson. This citizen adds that she had previously suffered similar incidents with her vehicles due to problems with her ex-partner.
