The Nationalist Youth of Lanzarote have asked their public and organic officials to show "respect" for all members and members of CC and have urged them to "discuss internal issues in the appropriate meetings", especially following the open debate for the election of the next candidate for the Government of the Canary Islands.
"We understand that the Canary Islands Coalition of Lanzarote must bet on the candidacy that best defends the needs and interests of the island, and we invite public and organic officials who in these days have launched to make statements in one sense or another, to participate in the decision-making bodies that we have set in our Statutes", said Samuel Martín, general secretary of the Nationalist Youth.
Although they do not cite any particular case, the truth is that several members of CC have already spoken on this matter. The most forceful was the councilor of the Cabildo Marci Acuña, who in an interview in the newspaper La Provincia assured that "the majority" in Lanzarote supports the possible candidacy of Fernando Clavijo. These statements were later answered by the councilor of the Government of the Canary Islands Inés Rojas, who questioned that Acuña spoke on behalf of the party in Lanzarote, when it has not yet spoken.
In addition, on a personal basis, Rojas bet on Paulino Rivero and stressed that Clavijo's position regarding the surveys is incompatible with his candidacy for the presidency on behalf of CC.
He urges them to "work in the positions for which they were elected"
In a meeting held this Tuesday, the Nationalist Youth decided to "appeal to common sense and invite their public and organic officials to work in the positions for which they were elected and to debate internal issues within the party".
In that same meeting, according to a statement, they also decided to "bet on a debate on the ideas and the future of the Canary Islands and Lanzarote as the axis of the election to the candidacy of the Government of the Canary Islands".
In addition, they have announced that they will summon their public and organic officials in these days to demand "that positions or positions are not looked at in the possible negotiations" to support one candidate or another, since they consider that it is "the members and the bodies of CC who must decide on the future of the formation based on the rules that we have all approved, and not the positions of greater or lesser relevance in the media".
In the same line, they add that "the Canary Islands Coalition should not care so much who its candidate is but how our land will improve if the elected president of the Government of the Canary Islands is elected by all citizens".
