The nationalist youth of the Canarian Coalition (CC) of Lanzarote demand that the competent authorities in the Solid Waste Area of the Island carry out "effectively" a continuous cleaning campaign of the surroundings of the Zonzamas Environmental Complex, "which presents an image of deterioration and abandonment due to the large number of bags and papers that decorate and confirm the disastrous waste management in Lanzarote".

The Secretary of Communication of the nationalist youth of CC of Lanzarote, Juan Manuel González Guerra, states that "the youth and in general the citizens who reside and visit the Island feel impotence due to the inefficiency of the system of waste recycling, but also, we feel secondhand embarrassment when we travel around the landfill and see it full of plastics and papers, among other waste".

"Lanzarote as a Biosphere Reserve should not be considered as a tourist or economic exchange platform, it should be considered to improve the state of the natural environment and the people who live in this territory. That is why we cannot allow environmental deterioration to continue advancing", says González Guerra, who recalls that in front of the landfill is the archaeological site of Zonzamas, the most relevant example of pre-Hispanic architecture in Lanzarote, also in a state of abandonment.
