The Canarian Coalition denounces in a press release that due to the paralysis of the improvement tasks, the Los Cocoteros area is in poor condition. Likewise, the political party denounces that the alternatives they provided during their term to solve the problems of this nucleus "are paralyzed", after the incorporation of the new Government Group, formed by the PIL-PSOE parties.
Within the Coastal Infrastructure Plan, through an agreement between the Teguise City Council, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the Government of the Canary Islands and the General Directorate of Coasts, is the remodeling and improvement of the natural pond. The Canarian Coalition denounces that because the works are not active, the surroundings of the pond are full of debris, a fact that gives an aspect of "abandonment" to the place and poses a danger to users. Likewise, this plan also included the elimination of architectural barriers and they declare that this work has not been carried out, and that there are "breaches in security matters", such as, for example, pipes or gates open to the sea. Therefore, the party has stated that it wants to transfer to the Plenary of the Corporation the proposal to demand that the Institution responsible for the control and the company awarded the works of the pond be urged to its "immediate" completion.
The Coastal one is not the only remodeling that has been undertaken, through the 2006 Works and Services Plan, the channeling and construction of sidewalks was carried out, which according to CC presents "numerous anomalies without solving", such as sidewalks without ramps and garages without communication, so they ask that the Faculty Management of the works be requested to evaluate the damage to the adjacent sidewalks and also, the awarding company be required to repair them.
In addition to the above, "street cleaning has been forgotten this summer, the hygiene conditions of the containers are in a pitiful state, as well as the overflowing landfill", so they demand that the area be cleaned. Specifically, that the existing landfill be closed, the garbage containers be washed and a periodic cleaning be organized.
